Family History Research

Eric Probert has been researching family history for over 25 years and was awarded a University of London Certificate with Merit in "Genealogy and the History of the Family". He has been a member of the Society of Genealogists since 1978 and in 1994 was elected a Fellow having edited the Society's quarterly, Computers in Genealogy for 10 years and organised a number of conferences. More recently he has been Computing Editor for Family Tree Magazine, has given talks around the UK on a variety of family history topics and authored a book Company and Business Records for Family Historians.

On redundancy from the Inner London Education Authority in 1990, following a career in engineering and management, he founded the Family History Research Centre and has been searching indexes & records and tracing ancestors & descendants for clients in Canada, the USA, Australia and New Zealand as well the UK ever since.

He is able to carry out research in all London record repositories and libraries, including the Public Record Office at Kew, and in Essex, Suffolk and Hertfordshire. For details of the reasonable and competitive rates, please send an e-mail to Eric Probert.
